The richest man in the world is fed-up with his employees working from home.

On Wednesday, Tesla Chief Executive Elon Musk sent an email to his employees, according to Reuters and Twitter posts.

“Everyone at Tesla is required to spend a minimum of 40 hours in the office per week,” Musk allegedly said in the email.

“If you don’t show up, we will assume you have resigned.”

Due to the pandemic, many workers have not returned to their offices. The increase in COVID cases has resulted in many technology firms in California allowing their employees to continue to work remotely.

Musk stated his opinion, in Twitter posts, that companies are not operating at their full efficiency by letting employees work from home and is insisting that employees “should pretend to work from somewhere else.”

A posting on Twitter said that Musk had sent an another email to his Tesla department heads that they must return to the office full time or “depart Tesla.”

A Tesla factory in California was reopened in May 2020, against lockdown regulations. There were 440 cases of COVID-19 at the factory that year following reopening.

There were 132 virus cases at Musk’s SpaceX company in California.

Musk’s policy on Tesla workers may be a warning to employees of Twitter.

Watch out, Twitter, you may be next.
