Wednesday, August 24, Elon Musk tweeted that the Starship was loaded on the Mechazilla launch pad.

The tweet had over 110,000 likes by the afternoon and is rapidly climbing with likes and retweets.

SpaceX and T-Mobile will be hosting an event on Thursday, August 25, at 7 PM ET, announcing their plans to “increase connectivity.” Elon Musk and T-Mobile’s CEO and president Mike Sievert will be presenting at SpaceX’s launch site in South Texas, where the Starship prototype was loaded onto the launchpad.

In a video by YouTuber Tim Dodd, “Everyday Astronaut,” SpaceX CEO Elon Musk was seen climbing to the top of the space company’s “Mechazilla” tower, a massive metal structure, designed for both the launch and landing of the Starship spacecraft.

“Yeah. I mean, this is pretty crazy,” Musk told Dodd in the video. “I mean, there’s a custom built tower with arms that are designed to catch the largest and heaviest flying object ever made and pluck it outta the air.”

SpaceX has been clearing multiple obstacles in its mission to launch the world’s most powerful rocket, and got FAA approval in June to launch from the Texas site.

According to SpaceX’s website, “SpaceX was founded to revolutionize space technology towards making life multi-planetary. SpaceX is the world’s leading provider of launch services and is proud to be the first private company to have delivered astronauts to and from the International Space Station (ISS), and the first and only company to complete an all-civilian crewed mission to orbit. As such, SpaceX is deeply committed to maintaining a safe orbital environment, protecting human spaceflight, and ensuring the environment is kept sustainable for future missions to Earth orbit and beyond.”

Elon Musk eventually hopes to move the Starship operations to NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, where the company is building a new launch site  and has obtained the required permits.

SpaceX already has 2,841 satellites in orbit as part of a satellite network designed to deliver internet connectivity to areas all over the world.Musk hopes to launch a total of 42,000 satellites.

Musk’s big dream is to eventually launch missions to Mars and …to infinity and beyond!(?)
