A doctor in Spokane, Washington was charged with trying to hire hitmen on the dark web to hurt a co-worker who gave him trouble, and kidnap his wife who was divorcing him.
Dr. Ronald Ilg, 55, previously a chief medical director at a multi-state neonatology group, is working on a deal with federal prosecutors, after pleading not guilty to charges of cyberstalking, witness tampering, attempted kidnapping, and others.
Dr. Ilg was fired from his medical director position in 2019, after co-workers complained about his behavior, including harassment. His marriage had fallen apart and he was going through a divorce, and he started harassing his wife to win her back. She had multiple restraining orders against him.
“Ron is spiraling and continues to get worse, to where now he is threatening to come to my home despite my opposition,” his wife wrote in a restraining order application, “This has to stop.”
To add to the intrigue (Netflix, are you paying attention?), he was having a sadomasochistic affair with a sex-slave contract with his mistress, in a dungeon bunker on his property.
He is accused of hiring hitmen on the dark web and offering them $55,000 in Bitcoin to beat-up a co-worker and kidnap his wife, keeping her high on drugs until she agreed to drop the divorce proceedings.
The doctor was known under the username Scar215, and was arrested in April 2021 after a team of British journalists discovered his activity on the dark web.
Scar215 posted on the dark web, “The target destroyed two families and walked away as if she did nothing,” the post read, “I want the target kidnapped for 7 days. While being held, she will be given injections of heroin at least two times per day. She will be taught to do it herself and pics and videos of her doing on her own should be collected. She should be told that her families health, including her father and her kids, depend on her completing these rules. It would be unfortunate if her older boy became addicted to heroin. Or her dad be severely beaten or her dog be slaughtered.”
Dr. Ilg’s wife’s name and address were published in the request.
The neonatal doctor faces a maximum prison sentence of 20 years if convicted.
