Woman in Tennessee Charged With Murder After Jailhouse Kiss

A woman in Tennessee is being charged with murder after a “kiss of death” while visiting a man in jail, Tennessee Department of Corrections said Tuesday

Rachel Dollard, 33, was seen kissing inmate Joshua Brown, during a prison visit, and passed a pellet containing a half ounce of methamphetamine. Brown swallowed the pellet and died later.

Brown was serving an 11-year sentence on drug charges at the Turney Center Industrial Complex prison in Only, Tennessee.

The pellet bag opened in the man’s stomach and caused him to overdose.

Dollard was taken into custody over the weekend and charged with second-degree murder and for bringing contraband into the prison.

“This incident points to the real dangers of introducing contraband into prisons and the consequences that follow,” said David Imhof, Director of the Tennessee Department of Correction’s Office of Investigations and Conduct.

“Our agency will pursue prosecution against any individual who threatens the safety and security of our staff, the men and women in our custody, and our facilities,” he continued.

If convicted, the accused could face at least 15 years in prison.
