According to an insider of the British Royal family, Meghan Markle has requested a private dialogue with her father-in-law, King Charles III, before she departs for the US with Prince Harry. Celebrity reporter, Neal Sean, revealed that the royal source said Meghan Markle penned the letter to King Charles, after the burial of Queen Elizabeth II.
“She’d now like before they return back to California to have a one-to-one audience with King Charles III,” Neil Sean said in a YouTube video.
This has been seen as a bold move from Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle, and it is hoped that the meeting, if agreed upon, will relieve the tense relationship after two years of controversy. The meeting presents a chance to explain what has happened for the past two years. In the formal letter, Meghan expressed that this moment provides an opportunity to discuss important matters and clear the air.
Markle might prefer to speak to King Charles alone to avoid Prince Harry arguing with his dad.
Several issues to be addressed during the talk include allegations of racism and negligence by senior royals. After moving to the United States, Markle has given explosive interviews accusing her in-laws of being racists. She has also accused them of neglecting her mental health woes.
Now that Charles is King, it’s a good idea to be in “the King’s graces.” Especially when he has the keys to the royal residences in the UK, in particular Frogmore Cottage, a beautiful, renovated property which was given to Harry and Meghan as a gift from Queen Elizabeth II.
Although Meghan and the royal family members had kept their relationship status a secret, both Meghan and Harry admitted to being close to the late Queen Elizabeth. In a published interview in August, Meghan revealed there is room for reconciliation between her, Prince Harry, and members of the royal family. However, she didn’t reveal who she has issues with in the palace. The late Queen used to take her grandson’s phone calls happily after he moved to the US. However, she became perplexed by his complaints later on. According to Richard Kay, Harry’s direct approach to Queen Elizabeth didn’t go well with other royals.
There has been no public comment from King Charles, who is trying to come to terms with his new role and his mother’s loss, as to whether he will honor the duchess’s request.
Having spent a night at Windsor Castle after the Queen’s funeral, the Sussexes, Harry and Meghan, will return to California to their children, Archie and Lilibet Diana, aged three and one year, respectively, after being away for two weeks.
Although the royal family appeared united during Queen Elizabeth’s historic funeral, it is unlikely the gap caused by the Sussexes’ departure from their royal roles is healed. Prince Harry was banned from saluting the Queen’s coffin after losing his military honors. Meghan avoided her sister-in-law, the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, during their walk about in Windsor on September 10.
The September 10 event marked the first time Prince William, Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and Kate Middleton, once the “Fab Four,” were seen together since 2020.
There is a lot to solve before the four become friends again. The relations between King Charles III and his son Harry are strained despite the union displayed during Her Majesty’s funeral proceedings.
According to one royal insider, “There is still a serious amount of distrust in the air and there hasn’t been any cause for that to change.”
