Lady Gaga had to interrupt and cancel her concert at the final show of her tour in Miami, due to a lightning storm on September 17.

She cried and apologized to 65,000 fans in the outdoor audience, imploring them to calmly take shelter.

The singer had hoped that it would be a short interruption of her performance at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, but the weather changed her plans.

She apologized to her fans on Instagram and social media.

On Instagram she wrote, “We really tried to finish the show tonight in Miami but we couldn’t because even when the rain stopped there was lightning striking right down to the ground so close to us.”

Concerned about the safety of her crew and fans, she said, “I don’t know what I would do if anything happened to anybody in the audience or to any member of my crew.”

Many of the fans took moved to a protected area of the stadium and dramatically sang “Rain on Me,” an appropriate choice, while the lightning and thunder raged.

Lady Gaga was notably upset and crying about the cancellation of the concert. She had six more songs to sing.

The Chromatica Ball Tour had 20 performances, but Lady Gaga, who suffers form fibromyalgia, had to rest between performances due to pain. She says she is doing better than before, and was excited about the tour.

After the Miami concert, she said on Instagram: “Part of why I decided not to finish the show was because I am healthy. It’s a healthy decision for all of you and for myself as well. So I love you… and I’ll see you next time on stage.”
