Missing Texas Mom Died While Drinking Alcohol in Hot Car

Texas mom, who left home home to go to work and then disappeared, was found dead three weeks after she was reported missing, in a shopping center parking lot, around 10 minutes from her home.

It is unclear how and why she ended up there.

Chrissy Powell, 39, was seen on her doorbell camera footage leaving her house in a hurry, and she told her mother she was late for work. She had called her office, where she worked as a paralegal, and told them she would be delayed.

She never made it to work.

Her family reported her missing, after they discovered she had not gone to her office, and realized that she had left her phone and essential medication in the house.

Police investigated and searched for weeks, but were unable to discover the woman’s whereabouts until a security guard at the parking lot discovered her body in her car. Security had been making routine surveillance of the parking lot, but they claimed this was a new discovery, and believe the car was there for about a week.

Although found in a strip mall parking lot, there was no evidence of credit card transactions.

An autopsy revealed that Powell had been drinking and died from overheating in her hot car while being intoxicated. The temperature in San Antonio when she was apparently in her car was around 90 degrees.

San Antonio Police are saying that Chrissy’s death is not being investigated as a criminal incident. She displayed no signs of trauma. Her death was ruled an accident

Sadly, there appears to be more to this story than meets the eye.

Powell left behind two children, ages 12 and three.
