Britney Spears Reveals That She Suffered Incapacitating Nerve Damage

Famous American pop singer, Britney Spears, revealed on Sunday that she has been suffering from nerve damage that has no cure.

The “born to make you happy” singer went on her Instagram account and revealed to millions of fans worldwide that the nerve damage she suffers from affects her right side. The post was a video of her dancing to the song, “Pumped up Kids” by Foster the People, and she opened up about her condition in the post’s caption.

Britney, who asserted in court documents that she was held in a mental facility in 2019 against her will, also blamed the unnamed facility for her nerve damage, in the Instagram post.

She alleges that while she was in the mental facility, she couldn’t breathe. She told her fans how one might end up with nerve damage, saying that it is sometimes caused when a person does not get sufficient oxygen in their brain, causing it to shut down.

Britney was admitted to a mental facility in 2019 while she was still under conservatorship. According to her, it was against her will and led to some health problems.

As the first anniversary of the termination of her conservatorship approaches, Britney details the permanent nerve damage that she says was caused by heavy medication in the facility.

She said she wakes up at least three times a week with numb hands. She described excruciating pain when it happens, saying that the nerve damage feels like many tiny pins and needles from her right side shooting up to her neck and going up to her head. Her head stings and the pain worsens when it hits her temple.

Since her conservatorship ended, Britney has spent a lot of time posting emotional statements on social media, some of which left her fans concerned for her well-being.

On Sunday, she wrote that since she got out of the mental health facility, she has not been feeling well and has been in a state of mild unconsciousness. She added that she could not face ‘it’ and felt scared.

Spears assured her fans that she was doing better and taking medication to help her manage the pain from the nerve damage, saying she could finally feel her brain getting oxygen.

Although some of her fans grew concerned for her when she started posting many videos of her dancing, she explained that it was her way of coping with the nerve damage.

Britney said the dancing videos kept her sane and helped her mental health. Dancing has played a massive role in coping with her condition, and she said that she couldn’t feel pain when dancing.

Earlier this year, in August, Britney posted an audio clip on Twitter and YouTube, explaining the abuse she went through during her 13-year conservatorship at the hands of her father. She described the conservatorship as “pure abuse.”
