Casey Anthony made her first on-camera interview speaking about her daughter’s death and dropped some bombshell accusations against her father more than a decade after the news of her little girl’s death shocked the country.

It has been over ten years since Casey Anthony, now 36, made headlines after the police found her daughter’s remains in the woods, and a judge acquitted her in 2011 of the murder, child abuse, and manslaughter charges against her.

Media platform Peacock, owned by NBC Universal, released a three-part short docuseries entitled “Casey Anthony: Where the Truth Lies” on November 29.

In the series, Anthony sits down for an on-camera interview and tells her version of events surrounding her daughter’s death. She became well-known after her daughter, two-year-old daughter, Caylee, disappeared. The two-year-old was last seen alive on June 16, 2008, but she was not reported missing until a month later, on July 15, 2008. Six months after the toddler was reported missing, police uncovered her skeletal remains in a wooded area near Anthony’s home.

Police charged Anthony with murder, but her legal defense claimed that Caylee died from drowning in the family pool. On July 5, 2011, a jury acquitted her of murder but convicted Anthony on four counts of providing the police with false information.

In the interview, Anthony says that her father, George Anthony, sexually abused her when she was between 8 and 12 years old. She also claimed that her father lied to the police to cover up the toddler’s death.

Anthony alleged that her father staged Caylee’s drowning to cover up that he was probably abusing the little girl. She said on the morning of June 16, 2008, she woke up, made her daughter breakfast, and then went to take a nap in her bedroom with Caylee.

She said her father woke her up frantically, shaking her and asking where Caylee was, which she didn’t think made sense since she thought her daughter was asleep next to her. She began an intensive search in the house for her daughter and went to the yard. When she returned, her father held Caylee’s soaking-wet body in his arms.

According to Anthony, her father handed the child’s lifeless body to her, telling her it was all her fault. She collapsed with her daughter’s cold and heavy body in her arms. Her father then told her everything would be okay and took Caylee from her arms, and instead of calling 911 or attempting to resuscitate her, he took the child’s body and went away.

Anthony said that she did not want to think Caylee was dead, so she did not immediately tell anyone about what had happened. She said that the month before the child was reported missing, she genuinely believed Caylee was alive because her father kept telling her that she was okay.

Anthony said she went along with what her father told her to do but looking back now, she does not believe her daughter died from drowning. She thinks her father put Caylee’s body in the pool to cover his tracks.

The distraught mother said she thought her father had started sexually abusing Caylee and wished she had spoken about it to someone.

Anthony admitted that she did lie to the police and was convicted for it. She told the police that the child was taken by a babysitter. When asked why she believed her father even after having her dead child’s body in her arms, she said that she was under his influence due to the hold he had over her and the history of sexual abuse.

Police have never arrested George Anthony in connection to Caylee’s murder. George Anthony denied the accusations against him in court during the trial.

Viewers are still wondering where the truth lies.
