Christopher Christensen, 51, was an elementary school principal in Orange County, California.
On the evening of December 4, he was found dead by suicide after jumping from a parking lot balcony at California’s Disneyland.
Christensen worked at the William T. Newland Elementary School in Huntington Beach, California.
The Anaheim police received the call and declared the man dead.
Christensen was having legal problems because his wife had accused him of battery and child endangerment.
He entered a not-guilty plea on Monday to both charges.
The man wrote what is said to be a suicide note on Facebook right before he allegedly jumped.
In the post, which went viral after the news of his death came out, Christensen shared photos of himself and his wife, Marlena in happier days. He said that he and Marlena had married privately more than three years ago and had a good marriage until recently.
According to the post, his legal problems began two weeks before his suicide when he and his wife had a heated argument in front of his two stepdaughters.
He said that during the argument he and his wife Marlena exchanged “strong” words. After their argument, Marlena got angry and decided to call the police, and Christensen spent the night in jail.
Marlena accused him of being violent towards her and her two daughters, but Christensen denied it. He said that during their argument, he never hurt his wife in any way, and that he never hit his stepdaughters.
According to Christensen’s post, he loved Marlena’s daughters as his own, and everyone who knew him knew how much the kids meant to him.
Christensen was very disturbed by the serious allegations by his wife and seemed shocked that he spent a night in jail even though he alleged he had never harmed anyone in his life.
Christensen said that he had been placed on administrative leave from his school as the case unfolded and criticized the American legal system, saying it was “flawed.” He said that the legal system was unfair to fathers and men. He explained that after his wife saw all the trouble that resulted from her allegations, and the damage to his reputation, she tried to make things right and clear his name but there was no turning back.
He wrote in his post that it would be his final post on Facebook, and he wanted to let everyone know that he was a kind and loving man who got destroyed on one unfortunate night.
Christensen said that he loved his job and thanked his band, Seaside Strings, for performing with him for over 30 years.
Disneyland’s seven-story parking lot has been used for several suicides since it opened in 2000.
