A young mother was slain on Sunday, December 4, in a murder-suicide that took place in the parking lot of Texas Children’s Hospital West Campus. She has been identified by family members as Kenia Osorio, 32.
Her family claims that Kenia recently dated the man who shot her before he turned the gun on himself. Osorio’s eight-year-old daughter witnessed everything without suffering any physical harm.
Houston Police Department officers said at about 2:08 pm they received multiple calls to the hospital at the 18200 block of Katy Freeway. A preliminary investigation indicates that Osorio and the boyfriend drove to the hospital to get medical attention for Osorio’s daughter, who was sitting in the back seat of the car, according to Fox 26. Osorio was found shot and killed in the driver’s seat.
It was reported that Osorio started dating the boyfriend a few months ago after separating from her husband and seeking a divorce. When Osorio and her husband decided to patch things up and keep their family together, the boyfriend became obsessed and jealous. Family believes that Osorio was trying to end the relationship with the unidentified boyfriend when the murder-suicide occurred.
Prior to the horrific incident on Sunday, Osorio’s relatives said they had only met the shooter once and knew nothing about him. They were not aware of any previous domestic violence incidents. Osorio is survived by her husband and two children.
