Even though viewers loved the commercial, some real-life customers were far from thrilled with his customer service skills.

The actor revealed that the ad, which features him working at the Dunkin’ Donuts in Medford, Massachusetts drive-through window, has both scripted and unscripted versions.

Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, the star said that in some unscripted versions, customers were getting pretty agitated with his customer service, or lack thereof.

Affleck seemed to accept his fate, telling the Wall Street Journal that it was Boston, after all, alluding to the city’s reputation of short-tempered people, adding that he experienced some people who were “coarse and agitated” and very willing to voice their displeasure with him in what he termed a “colorful way.”

Affleck said he was impressed with the unscripted versions and loved how they came out.

Although the videos of customers yelling at Affleck in a “colorful way” have not yet been released, Dunkin’ Donuts shared some cleaner versions on their YouTube channel.

In the YouTube video, customers seem bewildered, and their faces light up once they realize that it is Affleck behind the window struggling to keep up with taking their orders.

With a thicker Boston accent than usual, Affleck tells one customer that operating the machine was more challenging than it looked. He also tried to mess with another customer by telling him they were out of donuts and coffee and that they only had water.

The video concludes with the actor making fun of himself, saying that he is not the typical Dunkin’ Donuts worker and that the employees are usually much smarter than him.

Affleck’s love for Dunkin’ Donuts is well-known as he is often spotted in pictures carrying donuts and coffee from the chain.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Dunkin’ Donuts approached Affleck an asked him to be in their commercial, and they initially wanted him to do the commercial in the boardroom, but he had the bright idea to shoot the ad in one of their drive-throughs.

Affleck also directed the commercial.

Affleck’s wife, Jennifer Lopez, appeared in the filming, which aired on Sunday night during the Super Bowl.
