A family in Avondale, Ohio experienced two murder-suicides within six months. First a dad killed his daughter. Then his son followed in his footsteps and killed the rest of the family. The whole family is now gone.
On Friday, February 3, Darlene Flores, 38, and her two boys, 16-year-old Rodrigo Johnson and 19-year-old Eric Johnson Jr. died in a murder-suicide.
Six months earlier, the Flores’ estranged husband, Eric Johnson Sr., 40, killed the couple’s six-year-old daughter, Iyla Johnson, and then killed himself after a custody dispute.
Johnson had locked himself in the bedroom with his daughter, while SWAT team officers tried to persuade him to let his six-year-old daughter Iyla go. After a stand-off lasting about an hour, police found Johnson and his daughter’s body dead with gunshot wounds.
On Friday, February 3, officers received another 911 call at the same residence and found three unconscious people with gunshot wounds at the home at the Lake of the Woods Apartments.
The Hamilton County Coroner’s Office said Darlene Flores and her son Rodrigo Johnson died by homicide. Flores’ 19-year-old son Eric Johnson Jr., committed suicide after killing his mother and brother.
