Woman Falls to Her Death at Disneyland’s Mickey and Friends Parking Garage

An woman identified as Marney Schoenfeld, 46, died after falling from the seven-story Mickey and Friends parking garage at Disneyland in California. Schoenfeld was a hairstylist from Scottsdale, Arizona and left behind a husband and daughter.

Sgt. Jon McClintock of the Anaheim Police Department said they received a 911 call at about 6:50 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, regarding a person who had either fallen or jumped at a parking structure in Disneyland.

Police responded swiftly to the parking garage, where guests leave their vehicles, and spotted a woman on the ground.

First responders administered first aid and CPR to the woman before transporting her to the hospital, where physicians pronounced her dead.

Police in Anaheim said they are investigating the event, which is the second in the last few months, and it is unclear what caused it.

According to one tweet, a bomb squad was sent to the location approximately an hour after the woman fell to inspect an abandoned bag near the bottom of the garage.

It’s also unclear whether the woman was thrown out, died by accident, or committed suicide. Suicide is suspected.

It is not the first time that someone has died in this parking garage, which opened in 2000 as the largest parking facility in the world, holding over 10,000 vehicles.

In December 2022, a 51-year-old man, later identified as an elementary school principal and the son of a well-known Disney musical director, committed suicide in the parking structure.

Chris Christensen, Principal of Huntington Beach William T. Newland Elementary School, committed suicide in front of park visitors, including small children.

The man posted a suicide note on Facebook, stating that his wife wrongly accused him of domestic violence and phoned the police, which resulted in him being placed on administrative leave, and had a part in the man’s decision to end his life.
