Authorities say a female was discovered dead in a closet with a bag over her head inside a community center on Pitkin Avenue in Brooklyn’s East New York neighborhood.
Officers from the New York Police Department were summoned to the Housing Works East New York Health Center at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 27. Cops found the woman unresponsive.
The NYPD did not identify the victim or disclose any information about her death.
According to a spokeswoman, the unidentified woman’s death was suspicious and would be examined. An autopsy is scheduled.
The Housing Works East New York Health Center is a community organization that provides health care to HIV/AIDS patients.
In December 2022, a 43-year-old lady was discovered dead in her Brooklyn home. She’d been strangled, and her body had been hidden in the home for months before it was found. Tamara Graham was discovered decomposing in her Crown Heights Housing Authority apartment.
In January 2023, a 60-year-old woman was discovered dead in her Brooklyn residence. Neighbors said the woman was often heard fighting with her boyfriend. Her 62-year-old boyfriend alerted a friend that he discovered her dead body at the woman’s Ditmas Park residence. He then shut himself inside, stabbed himself in the chest, survived, and was arrested for the murder of the woman.
