8-Year-Old Hung By Neck on Rope at Pennsylvania Amusement Park

During a freak accident at a King of Prussia, Pennsylvania indoor amusement park, an eight-year-old child dangled by his neck from a rope ladder.

The terrifying accident occurred inside the Thrillz Flying Adventure Park.

The child was climbing a rope ladder when he became entangled and began dangling by his neck, according to the Upper Merion Police Department. The youngster was seen in security footage climbing down the rope ladder head first, according to the amusement park’s owner, Lisa Cannon.

Two off-duty cops freed the boy, who was unconscious when he was lowered from the ladder. The park personnel quickly cut the rope and got the boy down.

According to Cannon, the park’s safety guards assembled a response team that included employees, two off-duty policemen, and a nurse. Within 10 seconds, the employees had taken the boy down and alerted the park’s CPR and first aid personnel.

The youngster regained consciousness shortly after and spoke to rescue personnel before being rushed to Paoli Hospital, where he was said to be in stable condition.

The child was with his family at the park, according to police, and the occurrence was considered an accident.

Cannon said in her statement that the rope ladder conformed with the regulations of the American Society for Testing and Materials, but out of caution, they will further increase the safety of the rope by replacing it with a softer and tighter one.

One of the parents, who was there with her son and nephew at the time of the incident, said it was a terrifying ordeal for the kids, with many youngsters and adults crying in fear when they witnessed the rescue.
