John Travolta Breaks Down in Tears at Oscars

Famous film and television star John Travolta paid an emotional tribute to his “Grease” co-star Olivia Newton-John, who died in August last year at the age of 73.

During the 2023 Oscars In Memoriam tribute, Travolta paid a moving tribute. Despite not mentioning her by name, Travolta made it clear that he was referring to her when he delivered a classic Grease line during the tribute.

One of the benefits of being an actor, according to Travolta, is that they get to do what they love for a living, and sometimes even with the people they love. The actor went on to say that, because the night was dedicated to celebrating the work done in the previous year, it was only fitting to honor those who had died after dedicating their lives to the perfection of their art, both on and off the screen.

Travolta, visibly moved, stated that their contributions had left an indelible mark that had shaped and influenced the rest of the industry. He went on to say that the deceased had made us laugh and become dear friends and that we will always be ‘hopelessly devoted’ to them – a reference, for those who don’t remember, to the famous song in “Grease.”
