Mississippi Woman Run Over By Her Own Car While Fleeing Gunshot

In Mississippi, two women got into a fight that turned into a shooting. When her vehicle was shot at, the driver jumped out of her moving car and was subsequently run over by her own vehicle. 

According to The Sun Herald, at 5:19 p.m. on March 27, Gulfport police responded to a complaint of gunfire. Police discovered a woman who had been struck by a car and was injured.

According to investigators, the injured woman was involved in an argument with the shooting suspect, identified as Labrittani Keaira Watts, 22. The complaint stated that as the woman and her three children tried to leave their house in their car, Watts fired numerous shots at the vehicle. To avoid the gunshots, the woman leaped out of her moving automobile and was struck by her car, apparently leaving her children in the car. 

Police said that Watts fled the scene but was subsequently caught. 

Watts is accused of three charges of aggravated assault in addition to one allegation of aggravated domestic violence and is in the Harrison County prison. Bail was set at $400,000. Officials stated she will not be allowed to leave on bond since she also has felony arrest warrants in Biloxi and Mobile.
