A man was pushed against a moving subway train on March 19 at around 6 p.m. on a Sunday night in Brooklyn, New York City. The incident occurred out of the blue, apparently unprovoked.
The suspect pushed the victim, a 36-year-old man, into the northbound “R” train as he stood on the platform of the 59th Street station in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.
The man was lucky not to fall onto the tracks, and he landed on the platform after bouncing off the train.
He suffered numerous cuts and bruises, and a head injury. He was taken right away to NYU Langone Hospital in Brooklyn. Reports state that his condition was stable.
The attacker and victim didn’t say a word to one another, and the suspect fled right away.
Security cameras caught the attacker in the act. He is clearly visible on surveillance footage, and he has a beard and light skin. He was seen walking around in a black winter hat, dark down jacket, jeans, and white and black sneakers.
According to police statistics, serious felonies in the NYC subway system have dropped by 21.5% this year compared to the same time period in 2022. Statistics on burglaries remain unchanged, with two being reported.
