A 15-year-old Boston boy was killed while skiing at a resort in New Hampshire on Saturday, April 1.
Christopher DiPrima unexpectedly lost his life while skiing at the Pats Peak Ski Area in Henniker. According to the boy’s family, he had chest pains after the incident and died as a result of a “freak accident.”
DiPrima and his cousin Steven Gingras were skiing when they encountered a bump around 6:35 pm and he had a poor landing. According to resort representatives and the teen’s cousin, first responders transported the victim to Concord Hospital, where he later passed away from his injuries.
The teenager’s cause of death is being looked into by law enforcement.
The National Ski Areas Association advises skiers and snowboarders to stay in control and be aware of their surroundings. Additionally, it advises them to follow a set of safety guidelines for skiers and snowboarders, stay within their level of ability, avoid skiing or snowboarding alone, and wear appropriate protective gear, such as helmets.
