Bryan Kohberger, the suspect in the brutal killings of four Idaho University students last year, is causing havoc for his family.
His sisters, Melissa and Amanda Kohberger, both lost their jobs following Bryan Kohberger’s arrest last year.
Kohberger was arrested at his home in Albrightsville, Pennsylvania. After allegedly murdering Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin, he traveled with his father more than 2,000 miles across the country, from Idaho to his family’s home in Pennsylvania.
Prosecutors have not yet stated whether they will seek the death penalty. Kohberger will return to court on June 26.
In a press release issued in January, the family stated that they would stand by Kohberger despite the heinous accusations leveled against him and the overwhelming evidence pointing to his guilt.
Kohberger’s family is still dealing with the fallout from the criminology student’s arrest months later.
Melissa Kohberger, a mental health school counselor, and Amanda, an actress, both lost their jobs, according to reports.
According to reports, the family’s financial situation is dire.
Kohberger’s family has not visited him since he was arrested, but they have kept in touch by phone. The suspect is isolated, but he is granted some privileges, such as access to a television. A fellow prisoner claims that the alleged murderer obsessively watches news reports about himself throughout the day.
Kohberger is being held in Idaho and is reportedly being kept in isolation due to the horrific nature of his crimes, which would make him a target if he were housed with other inmates.
