Man Murdered at Starbucks While Waiting For His Order

A tragic stabbing occurred outside a Vancouver, Canada Starbucks on Sunday, March 26.

According to his mother, Kathy Schmidt, Paul Stanley Schmidt, 37, was waiting outside the coffee shop with his three-year-old daughter, Erica. His fiancée, Ashley Umali, was inside getting drinks at around 5:30 p.m.

Schmidt got into an argument with a man, while waiting. He asked the man not to vape in front of his daughter.

The following terrifying moments were captured on video, and it showed Schmidt being stabbed and falling to the ground as his daughter looked on in horror. The video was widely shared on social media, much to the shock and anger of the family. They have requested that the videos be removed.

Schmidt’s mother told a local news outlet that the suspect, Inderdeep Singh Gosa, 32, attacked her son because he was angry when asked not to vape in front of Schmidt’s daughter.

Gosa was charged with murder in the second degree.

Schmidt’s distraught mother expressed surprise that no one rushed to help her son, and that many witnesses were filming but not calling for help.

An officer was flagged down around 5:40 p.m., according to the police. The suspect was still in the area when he was apprehended and did not resist arrest.

Schmidt passed away after being rushed to the hospital.

Police are looking for information about what led to the murder. “We believe this homicide was witnessed by dozens of bystanders,” Sergeant Steve Addison said, adding that, “there may be people with information who have not yet come forward.”
