A woman from Jacksonville, Florida, who had been reported missing, has tragically been found dead.
Her car, which she was believed to have been driving at the time of her disappearance, was recovered from a pond with her body inside.
On a recent Monday afternoon, a 2021 gray Toyota Camry was pulled out of a pond in Palm Coast, Florida. The vehicle contained the body of a woman, who was later identified by the medical examiner as 49-year-old Erica Bergeron. She had been missing since Thursday, April 20, and was last seen driving the same car that was found in the pond.
Bergeron was last observed at Palm Coast Lanes bowling alley on Thursday, April 20, driving a gray 2021 Toyota Camry rental car. Mysteriously, the car deviated from its path, struck a tree nearby, and ended up submerged in the pond while heading northwest on Palm Harbor Parkway. The Florida Highway Patrol confirmed that the gray Toyota Camry extracted from the pond was the same car Bergeron had been driving during her disappearance.
By Monday evening, around 7:30 pm, the sheriff’s office announced the end of the search for Bergeron. The precise details surrounding the accident have yet to be determined, and it remains unclear what caused the car to suddenly leave the roadway. The investigation into the unfortunate incident continues.
