A 25-year-old woman, who was still wearing handcuffs and shackles on her arms and legs, appeared at a Staten Island police station on Monday, March 27, and reported her terrifying abduction. After being held captive for nine hours, she was able to escape her rapist, who held and abused her in a converted bus.
Alexander Isaac, a 30-year-old resident of Staten Island, has been named as the alleged rape suspect.
Another man and his two children were found in the converted bus with Isaac. The children were sent to be evaluated for their safety after the other man was detained for endangering their welfare.
The victim claimed that in addition to being handcuffed and shackled, Isaac had also raped and physically assaulted her. She claims that she was beaten, punched, and thrown against a wall.
The victim told the police about a parking lot on Central Avenue, and officers went there right away. There, they found two of the suspect’s two vehicles used as residences. They also found a pipe bomb, chemicals, a 3D printer, and part of a Glock pistol print inside the bus. The police categorized them as “suspicious materials.”
The suspect was a “quiet man” who avoided eye contact, according to his neighbors. The connection between the suspect and the victim is unknown.
Isaac was detained on Tuesday, and on Wednesday, he was charged. He was accused of rape, unlawful imprisonment, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal sex acts, kidnapping, and rape. It was decided that the bail would be $200,000 in cash or $700,000 in bond. Additionally, an order of protection was issued, according to online records.
