Two twin sisters from Rhode Island are facing murder charges for the death of their 70-year-old father, Joseph J. Pamula, Jr.
According to court documents, Danielle Pamula, 38, found her father and her twin sister, Jennifer Pamula, 38, lying on the floor of their home on January 30. Danielle told police that Joseph and Jennifer had been arguing about selling their home and disposing of a dozen cats before she fell asleep.
Officers responding to the scene found Mr. Pamula with garden shears in his neck and his daughter Jennifer unconscious on the floor with pills nearby. When she was revived, Jennifer admitted to authorities that she had killed her father. Danielle at first denied involvement, but eventually admitted that she also participated in the murder after police noted matching injuries on the sisters’ hands.
Special Assistant Attorney General Jessica Villella said that both women had been involved in their father’s brutal murder. Police noted blunt force trauma in addition to the injury from the garden shears.
Jennifer was charged with domestic murder in the first degree after receiving treatment at a hospital. She pleaded not guilty.
Danielle made her first court appearance on March 31 for one count of murder.
