12 Murdered With Cyanide

In a shocking turn of events, Thai woman Sararat “Am” Rangsiwuthaporn, aged 35, has been arrested on suspicion of being a serial killer, allegedly responsible for the deaths of 12 friends.

The latest incident occurred when her “friend,” 32-year-old Siriporn Khanwong, died suddenly during their trip to Ratchaburi province in western Thailand on April 14.

The autopsy of Siriporn revealed cyanide in her system, leading to heart failure. Interestingly, Sararat’s ex-husband is a senior police officer, and her sister owns a pharmacy where some questionable capsules were discovered. When Sararat was arrested, she was found to be carrying a bottle of cyanide.

The evidence didn’t lie and detectives wrapped up their case against Rangsiwuthaporn.

Local media reports that the police have linked 12 individuals who suffered heart-related deaths between 2020 and 2023, all having had contact with Sararat. Deputy national police chief Surachate Hakparn mentioned that there might even be two more victims, including a couple of policewomen.

Sararat’s lawyer is fighting to prove her innocence, while investigators are exploring whether money played a role in the alleged murders. Some families of the victims have reported missing belongings and money from their bank accounts.

After Siriporn’s death, her mother filed a report about missing money and jewelry. Another woman who lent Sararat money claimed she felt chest tightness and numbness in her hands after taking a pill given by Sararat. Thankfully, she was hospitalized and has since recovered.

Sararat was arrested on April 25 after surveillance footage of Siriporn’s collapse led to an arrest warrant. She’s now being held without bail in a women’s correctional institution as the investigation into the suspected murders continues.
