Following his dismissal from his Fox News show last month, former host Tucker Carlson is said to be “preparing for war” and attempting to break free from his contract with the media corporation.
The 53-year-old right-wing news host was fired a few weeks ago, due to a controversial text message that led to a “crisis” at the network. Now, Carlson is exploring options to either start his own media outlet or seek employment with other organizations, such as Rumble or Newsmax, both of which have reportedly offered him more lucrative deals than Fox News. Axios sources have also indicated that Carlson met with Twitter CEO Elon Musk to discuss a potential partnership.
Although Carlson’s contract with Fox News extends until January 2025, he is eager to move on and pursue other opportunities. A friend of the former host suggests that Carlson may have valuable insider information, stating that he “knows where a lot of bodies are buried and is ready to start drawing a map,” to get what he wants.
Carlson’s attorney has said that no one will be able to silence the ex-TV host or stop him from communicating with his audience.
In the meantime, Fox News has experienced a decline in ratings since Carlson’s departure and the network’s $787.5 million defamation lawsuit settlement with Dominion Voting Systems.
While Carlson has not yet revealed his future plans, he has addressed his termination in a video posted on Twitter.
