The former wife of a participant on the well-known television game show Family Feud allegedly expressed fear for her own safety before she was murdered.
The defendant, Timothy W. Bliefnick, 39, is currently on trial, accused of murdering his estranged spouse, Rebecca Bliefnick, 41, in her Quincy, Illinois home. The couple was going through a divorce when the incident occurred.
Bliefnick is charged with first-degree murder and home invasion, and he has pleaded not guilty. In the trial that is currently underway, prosecution witnesses, including Rebecca’s sister Sarah Reilly, gave testimonies to shed light on the events leading to her death.
Sarah Reilly revealed that Rebecca had confided in her about her fears about Timothy possibly harming her. She mentioned a text message she received from Rebecca in September 2021, in which Rebecca expressed fear and named Timothy as the person to suspect if anything happened to her.
The prosecution showed evidence implying that Timothy Bliefnick had made ominous internet searches around the time of Rebecca’s alleged murder. These searches related to using a crowbar to force open a window, creating a homemade silencer, and police response times in their locality.
Rebecca’s father, William Postle, discovered her body in the bathroom on February 23 after she did not pick up her three children from school. Approximately two weeks later, Timothy Bliefnick was charged with her murder.
The prosecution asserts that Timothy forcibly entered Rebecca’s second-story bedroom using a crowbar and then shot her multiple times.
Timothy Bliefnick, along with some family members, had appeared on Family Feud in the past. During a 2020 episode, he humorously replied to host Steve Harvey’s question about his biggest mistake at his wedding with, “Honey, I love you, but, ‘Said I do.'”
