In a chilling confession, a Connecticut man arrived at a local police station, admitting to the murder of his girlfriend, who he believed was cheating on him.
He showed the officers pictures of her motionless body in his car.
Pedro Grajalez, 52, entered the Hartford Police Department on Sunday afternoon, unveiling the horrific images to the front desk officers. He informed them that he had just stabbed his 57-year-old girlfriend, Nilda Rivera, whose body was in his vehicle parked outside the station.
According to Lt. Aaron Boisvert, officers rushed to the parking lot and discovered Rivera in a critical state, with numerous stab wounds. Despite attempts to save her, she was later pronounced dead at Saint Francis Hospital.
It was revealed that Rivera had been stabbed over 25 times, with wounds on her chest, head, face, and arms, while sitting in the car parked on Murphy Road. Police found her in the front seat, and a knife, believed to be the murder weapon, in the center console.
The couple had been together since July 2022, and Grajalez had recently become aware of Rivera’s alleged infidelity. Local news reported that he had been planning her murder for a few days.
Grajalez confessed to hiding the knife in his pocket, taking Rivera to McDonald’s for a meal, and then driving her to a remote parking lot where he attacked her. He informed investigators that he waited to ensure her death before heading to the police station. Additionally, he sent a photo of Rivera’s lifeless body to the man he suspected to be her “new boyfriend.”
Grajalez faces first-degree murder charges, with bail set at $3 million. Rivera’s daughters disclosed their concerns about Grajalez from the beginning, citing his extreme jealousy, habit of checking her phone, deleting content, accessing her social media accounts, and removing contacts.
