A man from Utah, Jeremy Bailey, 34, has been apprehended following his admission of murdering his wife, mother-in-law, and father-in-law, according to an official report from the authorities.

Bailey contacted the dispatch at Layton City Police Department at approximately 9:45 AM on Friday, May 19, claiming responsibility for the three deaths. The report disclosed that he stayed on the line with law enforcement officials until they reached his residence near Salt Lake City.

Upon arrival, officers directed Bailey to leave his home, subsequently placing him under arrest. At the crime scene, they discovered the deceased bodies of three individuals: his wife Anastasia Stevens, 36; her step-mother Becky Stevens, 61; and her father Donald Stevens, 73.

Further investigation revealed the deaths of three out of the four family dogs. The incident took place at the home of Jeremy Bailey and Anastasia Stevens. The police reported that Becky and Donald Stevens were visiting from Nevada at the time of the incident.

The motive behind these killings remains unknown, according to Layton Police. Investigations continue in order to confirm the manner of death.

Based on a probable cause statement, Bailey reportedly told authorities that he had contemplated the act for several days. He stated that the victims had been dead for about 20 minutes before he called the police and suggested a “murder-suicide.”

Bailey then posted a shocking message on his wife’s Facebook page, announcing the killings and indicating his home address. The affidavit also mentioned that one of the victims had expressed fears to a therapist earlier in the day, hinting at the need for legal intervention after discovering something troubling.

Jail records indicate that Bailey is facing charges of aggravated murder, discharging a firearm, and aggravated animal cruelty.

A neighbor, Del Mar Stevens, who is not related to the victims, portrayed the couple as congenial, recalling that they had offered help if required. Stevens described them as ordinary neighbors who kept a low profile, and commented on the unusual nature of such events in their neighborhood.
