10-Year-Old Fatally Shot While Watching TV in His Bedroom

A 10-year-old boy was fatally shot while innocently watching television inside his home in Virginia.

K’Von Morgan was sitting on his bed, enjoying a TV program alongside his best friend, when stray bullets struck him, tragically ending his young life. The incident occurred in the Pecan Acres apartment complex in Petersburg during the early hours of June 17.

Petersburg Police Chief Travis Christian expressed his disbelief at the senseless act, saying that it made no sense for a child to lose his life just sitting inside his own bedroom. The area where the shooting took place is described as a family-friendly neighborhood where children should feel secure enough to play without fear.

K’Von, an innocent victim, was critically wounded by an unknown assailant outside the apartment complex. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries, leaving his family devastated. The police have launched an investigation, are reviewing security footage, and are conducting a thorough survey of the area to identify any individuals involved in this tragic incident.

The community has rallied together to support K’Von’s grieving family, with numerous members gathering outside the Pecan Acres Apartment complex for a show of solidarity. Perry Morgan, K’Von’s father, expressed his anguish, directing his words at those responsible, saying, “Somebody is feeling guilty right now… I don’t even know how you’re sleeping right now.”

Described as an energetic and perpetually smiling boy, K’Von was a beloved fifth-grade student at Pleasant Lane Elementary School. His uncle, Corey Friar, mourned the loss on a GoFundMe page, declaring that his nephew had so much life ahead of him and was a beacon of light in any dark room.
