13-Year-Old Injured in Shooting at South Carolina Walmart

A violent incident occurred at a Walmart store in Aiken, South Carolina, in which a 13-year-old girl was shot while shopping with her mother on the evening of Wednesday, June 7.

The episode happened around 7:30 pm, launching an immediate reaction from the Aiken County Department of Public Safety in response to reports of an active shooter.

Eyewitnesses, including Kari Johnson, recounted how the attacker approached the adolescent girl without any provocation and initiated the shooting. The victim, revealed as Ashton Rickard by The Augusta Press, sustained severe injuries in her arm and stomach. Immediate surgery was performed, and her condition might require further surgical interventions.

Law enforcement personnel successfully detained the suspect, a 32-year-old man named Stephen Foreman. Police stated that there was no prior connection between Foreman and the victim. He is currently charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

The reason behind Foreman’s reprehensible act is yet to be determined as the investigation continues. Ashley Rickard, the victim’s mother, described the extent of her daughter’s injuries, saying that one bullet fractured her arm and is still lodged in her back.
