Three people were killed and three others injured in a shooting incident on Sunday night, June 11, in a residential area in Annapolis, Maryland.

In a press briefing, Annapolis Police Chief Edward Jackson revealed that the shooting stemmed from an interpersonal dispute at a graduation party and assured the public there was no ongoing threat to their safety.

Chief Jackson emphasized that the investigation was both active and fluid, with many details yet to be clarified. The exact nature of the relationship between the parties involved remains undisclosed. The victims, who ranged in age from their early 20s to 50s, were found deceased outside the residence. At this stage, a definitive motive for the shooting has not been established.

The neighborhood where the incident took place, located south of the city center near the waterfront, was cordoned off by numerous law enforcement vehicles. Officers responded quickly to the shooting, which was reported around 8 pm.

According to a press release from the police department, one of the injured was airlifted to a trauma center. The statement also confirmed that a suspect was in custody. However, Chief Jackson referred to this individual as a “person of interest” and clarified that no charges had been filed against them as yet.

Law enforcement officials have successfully recovered a weapon they believe is linked to the incident. As the investigation continues, authorities are piecing together the events leading up to the shooting and seeking to find out more information.
