On June 8, former First Lady Melania Trump was seen at Trump Tower in New York City, her stoic demeanor visible before the indictment of her husband, Donald Trump, for 37 felony counts linked to the alleged inappropriate handling of federal documents at his Mar-a-Lago resort.
Melania, 53, hid her emotions behind sunglasses and held a Chanel bag as she made her way into her NYC residence on Thursday afternoon.
Hours later, 76-year-old Donald Trump took to Truth Social to announce his indictment on several charges, some falling under the Espionage Act. Trump’s lawyer, Jim Trusty, confirmed the charges were seemingly related to an Espionage Act violation.
Melania’s appearance at Trump Tower comes less than a month following Donald’s exclusion of her in a provocative Mother’s Day message targeting the “Radical Left.” Despite rumors of a “transactional marriage,” sources indicate that the couple is “more closely bonded” following Donald’s announcement of a 2024 presidential run. Yet, Melania has refrained from commenting publicly on Donald’s recent indictment, which carries a potential prison sentence of up to 100 years if convicted on all charges.
The charges against Donald Trump include retaining national defense documents willingly, plotting to obstruct justice, withholding documents, corruptly hiding records, hiding a document in a federal investigation, scheming to hide, and making false declarations.
Melania was notably absent from Donald’s speech at Mar-a-Lago in April after he was arraigned on charges connected to hush-money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels.
Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, a former aide and confidante of Melania, stated that Melania is cognizant of her husband’s affairs but maintains her silence for the sake of dignity. Wolkoff expressed that Melania would stand by her husband, indicating her anger, not embarrassment, over the affairs. Melania has not yet made any public comments on the recent indictment.
