A mother of four was fatally shot by a cashier at a gas station convenience store in Las Vegas, reportedly over an unpaid salad.
The victim, Mallory Angel Armijo, 35, was allegedly killed by a store clerk at a 7-Eleven around 12:16 am on Friday, June 23, according to police reports.
Armijo’s sister, Rachel Wright, claimed that the confrontation leading to the fatal shooting originated from a dispute over a stolen salad. Wright explained that Armijo took the salad without paying because she wanted to feed her hungry girlfriend, but they couldn’t afford it. A verbal argument with the cashier escalated to a physical altercation outside the store.
Wright detailed that during the struggle, the cashier attempted to seize Armijo’s purse, knocking her to the ground. A bystander intervened, asking the cashier to let Armijo go. Tragically, as Armijo was walking away, she was shot three times in the back. She was later pronounced dead at Sunrise Hospital.
While Wright acknowledged that stealing the salad was a mistake, she emphasized that her sister didn’t deserve the violent reaction she received. She described Armijo as a mother of four and a kind-hearted woman. In shock and disbelief, Wright called the incident a senseless act of violence.
Additionally, Wright claimed that the cashier, whose identity remains undisclosed, had a criminal record, including incidents like throwing hot water on a person and engaging in a physical altercation in a parking lot. Despite these alleged prior offenses, the cashier was still employed at the store at the time of the incident.
