Royal watchers and fans might be interested to hear that there’s a chance Prince Harry could be welcomed back into the royal family’s embrace – but there’s a catch. His wife, Meghan Markle, might not be included in that invitation, says royal expert Jennie Bond.
Despite the well-publicized disputes that have dogged the royal family, Bond believes the British royals would likely extend their forgiveness and welcome Harry back home, if he decided to return to the UK.
This scenario might seem a bit unlikely at the moment, and Bond does acknowledge this. However, she insists that there’s still a deep well of goodwill towards Harry in the UK, thanks to the affection the public held for him in his younger years. With time, Harry might be able to restore his image and earn a warm welcome back to the royal fold. That being said, Bond doesn’t expect such a reunion to take place anytime soon.
Bond’s perspective on this royal conundrum aligns with that of Paul Burrell, who once served as butler to Harry’s mother, Princess Diana. Burrell holds a similar view – he believes the British public would be happy to see Harry return. Furthermore, he suggests that Harry’s father, now King Charles, and his brother, Prince William, would be particularly enthusiastic to welcome him back home.
Another voice supporting the possibility of a royal return is Grant Harrold, a former butler to King Charles. Harrold believes that Harry and Meghan’s return to the UK could indeed be a realistic prospect at some point in the future.
Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, stepped back from their official royal duties in 2020 and moved to California. They’ve only made a few brief trips back to the UK since their departure. This has left many royal enthusiasts wondering if a return to their royal roots is ever in the cards. It seems, at least according to these royal experts, that a door may remain open for Prince Harry.
