3 Killed, 14 Injured in Greyhound Bus Accident

Three people were killed and 14 seriously injured in a collision involving a Greyhound bus and stationary commercial vehicles on an exit ramp of Illinois’ Interstate 70.

The incident took place at approximately 1:54 am on Wednesday, July 12.

According to the Illinois State Police, the unfortunate event unfolded in Madison County’s Silver Lake Rest Area. Four of the injured individuals needed immediate care, necessitating an airlift to the nearest hospital, while an additional ten passengers were taken by ambulance. Illinois police identified the three victims as Juan Vasquez-Rodriguez, 34, Buford Paya, 71, and Bradley Donovan, 47. The bus was traveling from Indianapolis to St. Louis at the time of the accident. 

Greyhound issued a statement confirming the hospitalization of several passengers, including the bus driver, and expressed their concern for everyone’s safety.
