79-Year-Old Texas Beekeeper Dies in Tragic Fire

A 79-year-old beekeeper died during a honey harvest on Wednesday, July 5, in White Settlement, Texas.

The unfortunate incident occurred on Vaquero Street, where the man was collecting honey when an adjacent building suddenly erupted in flames. According to reports, the fire erupted at around 10:15 am, enveloping the structure.

White Settlement Police Chief Christopher Cook took to Twitter to provide more details on the distressing event. He said that the beekeeper was harvesting honey when the fire started, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim has not yet been disclosed by the authorities, leaving the community mourning the loss of a fellow bee enthusiast.

The blaze posed an additional challenge as it attracted swarms of agitated honey bees. Prompt action was required, and local authorities urgently sought the help of an experienced beekeeper to manage the situation. Chief Cook confirmed that three first responders suffered injuries from the bee stings, but their wounds were not life-threatening.

While the investigation into the incident is ongoing, the White Settlement Police Department remains involved in piecing together the sequence of events.
