Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are potentially facing legal action after featuring an image of a YouTuber in a documentary series about their lives.
Their series suggested that a large share of online negativity targeted at the couple was generated by a select few accounts, with Youtube video presenter Shallon Lester’s image serving as an example.
Famous for her videos critiquing Harry and Meghan’s relationship, Lester recently expressed her objection to her image being used. In her latest video, she declared her intent to seek legal recourse for defamation, slander, and misrepresentation. Lester alleges that the couple refuses to recognize public criticism, especially from those who perceive Meghan as manipulative, including herself. Lester did not disclose detailed information about a likely lawsuit but also brought up the controversy around Meghan’s Spotify podcast show, “Archetype.”
Podnews.net has hinted that certain segments of the podcast were completed by other staff, with Meghan’s voice and inquiries added afterward via editing. This was seemingly supported by Bill Simmons, a senior Spotify podcast executive, who called the couple “grifters.”
United Talent Agency CEO Jeremy Zimmer criticized Meghan during the Cannes Lions advertising festival. He discussed the podcast’s cancellation, highlighting that being famous doesn’t necessarily equate to having talent.
