Maryland police are on the hunt for a 21-year-old Maryland woman implicated in a violent episode at Keith & Sons Soul Food Cafe, leading to the demise of a 62-year-old man.

The incident took place in Prince George’s County, Maryland on July 8.

Prince George’s County Police Department reports indicate that a clash broke out between an employee of the cafe, Mervyn Daniel, and customer Raykia Poston inside the eatery. Workers at the cafe had to step in to dissolve the tension. Poston, accompanied by her boyfriend, Jesse Culley, 37, exited the restaurant but made a prompt return.

Reportedly, Daniel, Poston and Culley were roommates

Eyewitnesses say Poston, allegedly looking for her lost $10, threatened ominously, “I will kill everybody in this store.” The fight between Poston and Daniel resumed, and Culley came into the restaurant through a backdoor, carrying an item believed to be “a piece of wood.”

Reports suggest that during the heat of the argument, Poston seized a butter knife from the counter and stabbed Daniel. Subsequent to the incident, security footage showed Culley and Poston retreating through the back door and driving away in Culley’s vehicle.

First responders discovered Daniel critically wounded and unconscious. Despite being transported to the hospital, he was declared dead upon arrival.

A bloodied knife and a hidden cell phone were found by police in the restaurant’s kitchen. Culley has been apprehended, but Poston is still on the loose, wanted for charges of first-degree murder and related crimes.
