Mother Dies in Treadmill Accident in LA Fitness Gym

A 36-year-old mother of four lost her life after falling on a treadmill during her routine workout at LA Fitness gym in Kent, Washington.

The incident took place while the victim, Delrie Rosario, was working out with her sister, Marissa Woods, as they often did.

Attempting to slow down the treadmill, Rosario stumbled and suffered a head injury. Woods sought immediate help, requesting someone to perform CPR, but the staff of the gym did not respond. However, other gym patrons suspended their exercises to lend a helping hand, while the staff remained inactive. LA Fitness has chosen not to comment on the incident.

Despite the attempts to revive her, Rosario remained unconscious and was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

Rosario was known for her devotion to her children – Delaino, Rickey, Ric’Kae, and Delaiah. Juggling two jobs to support them, Rosario was a dedicated mother who always put her children first, a fact she proudly acknowledged on her Facebook page, calling herself “the momma.”

In the wake of this tragic event, a GoFundMe page was set up by Rosario’s colleagues to help her children through this difficult period.

Although deaths from treadmill-related accidents are uncommon, injuries are more frequent. A 2019 report from the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s National Electronic Injury Surveillance System revealed that injuries from exercise equipment result in more than 400,000 Americans needing medical treatment each year, with almost 16,000 emergency room visits in 2020 due to home treadmill use.
