In the documentary series “Stalkers in Hollywood,” a chilling incident involving renowned actress Sandra Bullock is revealed.
The terrifying morning of June 8, 2014, found Bullock confronting every celebrity’s worst nightmare when an obsessive stalker broke into her home.
Thankfully, Bullock’s three-year-old son, Louis, was with a nanny away from the home that night, due to the actress’ commitment to a late-night gala. Taking refuge in a fortified closet, Bullock whispered to the 911 operator, “Someone broke into my house. I’m hiding in the closet. I just saw them walk up into the attic.”
While concealed in fear, Bullock heard the intruder pounding forcefully on her bedroom door, seemingly intent on confronting her. She managed to maintain contact with the emergency dispatchers, providing real-time information to assist the officers in neutralizing the threat.
Approximately 15 minutes later, law enforcement entered the house and confronted the intruder, identified as 42-year-old Joshua James Corbett, as he descended the stairs from the second floor. Officers subsequently discovered a handwritten letter from Corbett addressed to Bullock, which contained disturbing details.
In his letter, Corbett disclosed his sexual fantasies involving Bullock and expressed his delusional belief that they were predestined to be together. He signed off as “Your husband, Joshua James Corbett.”
During the investigation, it was revealed that Corbett held a concealed weapon permit from Utah. Following his arrest, law enforcement searched his home and found an assortment of weapons, including handguns, long rifles, and a substantial amount of ammunition.
Corbett was convicted of felony stalking and burglary. After his release from a mental health facility, he tragically ended his own life during a standoff with the police at his home, according to the LAPD.
In a candid discussion on Jada Pinkett Smith’s “Red Table Talk,” Bullock revealed how profoundly the break-in had changed her. Since that incident, she has avoided being alone, acknowledging the significant impact it had on her life.
