Tragedy struck a Las Vegas family on Sunday, July 9.
Their two-year-old toddler boy, Jaiangelis Stevenson, accidentally discharged a firearm at his caregiver’s residence, leading to his unfortunate death.
Jaiangelis, lovingly known by his family as “Blue” due to the color of his eyes, triggered the fatal incident in a bedroom of an apartment in proximity to Nellis Air Force Base around 6:30 pm. Subsequently, emergency responders rushed him to the University Medical Center, but despite dedicated attempts to save his life, he was pronounced dead, as confirmed by local authorities.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has initiated an investigation into the heart-rending incident. Among the areas of focus is whether there were any circumstances suggestive of neglect or abuse involved in the case.
Paris Box, the child’s aunt, revealed that a family member was in charge of looking after the toddler at the time of the fatal event. This occurred while his mother was at her job. She remembered Jaiangelis fondly, describing his bright blue eyes.
