A tourist died at a luxury resort’s water slide. The incident, caught on video, initially went unnoticed by fellow resort-goers.
The victim, Ali Cilga, 65, was holidaying with his family at a top-rated resort in Manavgat, Turkey. A shocking accident occurred when Cilga slid headfirst down a water slide and hit his head on the hard floor of the pool.
The video recording of the incident reveals numerous swimmers passing by Cilga without recognizing the direness of his situation. Eventually, some observant guests noticed him lying motionless and quickly pulled him out of the pool. An individual, presumed to be the resort’s lifeguard, tried to resuscitate him.
Despite prior warnings from lifeguards about the potential dangers of descending the slide headfirst, Cilga opted to ignore the caution.
Cilga, a Turkish national, was immediately taken to a local hospital post-incident. Unfortunately, his injuries were too severe and he succumbed to them days later.
Cilga and his family were celebrating the Eid al-Adha holiday at the resort.
Authorities have ordered an autopsy and are investigating the factors that led to Cilga’s sudden death.
