On February 9, 2013, acclaimed British actor, Shiv Grewal, 60, experienced a cardiac arrest, following which he reported a seven-minute encounter with the afterlife. This incident occurred near Grewal’s southeast London residence.
During this episode, Grewal described feelings of detachment from his body and intense emotions in a seemingly boundless state. His descriptions of this journey include experiences of weightlessness, celestial visions, and interactions with alternative existences. Despite the offered glimpses of other lives and realities, Grewal had a strong will to reunite with his wife, Alison.
Grewal’s return to consciousness was facilitated by immediate medical intervention, including arterial surgery and a month-long induced coma due to cerebral hypoxia, which caused epilepsy.
Inspired by his transformative near-death episode, Grewal channeled his emotions into art. His collection, “Reboot,” displayed at London’s Karma Sanctum Soho hotel until September 24, offers an artistic portrayal of his perceptions of the afterlife. The exhibited pieces provide attendees a view into his vivid experience.
As a result of the near-death experience, Grewal expresses a profound gratitude for life, emphasizing the value of kindness and compassion in human growth.
