Comedian Bill Cosby Faces More Legal Trouble

Renowned comedian Bill Cosby is facing yet another lawsuit.

Cosby is once again in the legal spotlight, with singer Morganne Picard alleging misconduct from the late 1980s. Court records show that Picard, an emerging musician in 1987, was invited to The Cosby Show by Cosby. Over the next few years, she alleges that Cosby provided drinks on many occasions that left her heavily intoxicated. One such incident at Cosby’s home resulted in Picard waking up in a hotel room, feeling disorientation and discomfort in her genital area.

The lawsuit asserts that Cosby raped her during Picard’s incapacitated state. Other entities, including Kaufman Astoria Studios, Astoria Studios LP II, the Carsey-Warner Company, and NBCUniversal, are also implicated in the lawsuit for alleged negligence.

The lawsuit is filed under the provisions of the Adult Survivors Act, which will be active until Thanksgiving 2024.

Cosby, convicted in 2018 but whose conviction was later overturned in 2021, has consistently denied such allegations. He faces similar accusations from several other women.
