A well-known French daredevil met his end in Hong Kong while attempting a stunt in a high-rise building.
Remi Lucidi, 30, widely recognized as Remi Enigma, tragically fell from the 68th floor of the Tregunter Tower complex in Hong Kong during an audacious climb, according to reports.
Lucidi arrived at the building around 6 pm, purporting to visit a friend on the 40th floor. However, when the supposed friend denied any acquaintance with him, suspicions were raised. Despite a security officer’s attempt to prevent him, Lucidi managed to gain access to an elevator. He was later spotted on the 49th floor in security footage, from where he began ascending the stairs towards the rooftop.
The fatal incident transpired at around 7:38 pm when Lucidi was seen tapping on the window of the complex’s penthouse. A maid observed him and immediately informed the police. Investigators surmise that Lucidi may have been trapped outside the penthouse and was seeking help before his fatal fall.
Lucidi’s camera was recovered at the scene, revealing footage of his past daring exploits. The official cause of his death is yet to be determined.
Those who knew Lucidi describe him as a congenial and unassuming individual. A hostel worker reminisced about Lucidi’s vacation plans, noting that he had planned to hike up a mountain during his Hong Kong visit.
The extreme sports community is grieving the loss of a fellow adventurer, with fans posting heartfelt tributes online.
