Uley Hines, 83, from Coatesville, Pennsylvania, faces charges of first- and third-degree murder, and additional weapon-related offenses, following a deadly confrontation with another man about a disagreement over a dog.
The incident took place on August 19 at a residence on Graham Avenue. Chester County District Attorney Deb Ryan stated that the Coatesville Police responded to a shooting alert around 8:40 a.m. and found 61-year-old Keith Boggs dead on the property’s front steps with a gunshot wound. An autopsy found that Boggs suffered three bullet wounds, on the left side of the chest, on the right side of the chest, and on the right arm.
Video analysis and a witness statement indicated the dispute arose between Boggs and the accused, Hines, over a dog. Both lived in the same residence, along with another roommate and her child.
Hines was arrested on the same day.
