An RV blew a tire on a Pennsylvania interstate. It crossed a median and collided with a tractor-trailer, leading to five fatalities.
The head-on accident occurred on August 9 at around 8:50 pm on Interstate 81 near Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. It led to the death of all four passengers in the RV as well as the truck driver. The RV was towing a trailer, and coincidentally, the tractor-trailer was towing a double trailer.
The deceased from the RV were identified as members of the Molander family from Middletown, Pennsylvania: Donald, Kimberly, Miranda, and Dane. The tractor-trailer’s driver was James Shade, a resident of Martinsburg, West Virginia.
Authorities confirmed that all five individuals were pronounced dead at the accident site. Additionally, a dog was also found dead due to the collision. An investigation is currently underway by law enforcement agencies to determine the sequence of events leading up to the accident.
