The official UK royal family website recently made updates to Prince Harry’s title, omitting the “His Royal Highness” (HRH) designation.
This change was first brought to light by Express media, which observed the title’s presence on Friday but saw its removal shortly after. The edits were specific to sections detailing Prince Harry’s 2016 endeavors to promote HIV/AIDS awareness. “His Royal Highness” has been replaced with references to “the Duke” or “the Duke of Sussex.”
The title of Duke was conferred upon Prince Harry in May 2018.
Buckingham Palace acknowledged that portions of the royal website need updates, especially regarding Queen Elizabeth’s status. They assured that revisions are underway post the Queen’s passing.
In 2020, the titles for Prince Harry and Meghan were finalized as they stepped away from royal roles. They would no longer use the HRH titles but would retain the Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles.
Living in California, the pair often introduce themselves simply as “Harry” and “Meghan.”
Prince Harry’s line of succession remains intact. He is in line to the throne after Prince William and William and Kate’s children.
With King Charles’s accession to the throne, Harry and Meghan’s children Archie and Lilibet saw title changes. The palace website, as of March, lists them as Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
